The Scoop on Joanne . .
. |
May I Introduce Myself . .
.
As you know
from the welcome page, I am Joanne Gardiner, a licensed
real estate broker in California. More than likely
you are in this section to learn something about me, to
see if you and I can connect. I hope we
can.
I
am a full-time, full-service broker
and have been dedicated to assisting buyers and
sellers for more than 30
years. To buy or sell real
estate wisely you need knowledge, dedication and
experience on your side. I bring you all these
elements and more.
Originally from Minnesota, I have lived in
the San Francisco Bay Area for more than 40 years.
I began my real estate career shortly after
moving here.
When
I represent buyers my focus
is to lead them through the complex maze
of negotiations, finance, disclosures, inspections,
etc so they make the best buy possible.
And when
I represent sellers my focus is to guide
them through an even more complex maze
including effective planning and marketing,
negotiations, disclosures, contract clauses and
other aspects so they realize the most for
their properties in the least amount of
time and with as little inconvenience as
possible.
When you
need a broker in another area or another state call
on me to connect you with just the right
one. By using my referral services you will
have the best representation possible in your new city
and also have me monitoring your relocation for your
maximum convenience and satisfaction.
In
addition to timely information on buying, selling
and owning real estate, my web site is a growing
collection of things to keep you more informed and
make your daily life more
enjoyable. We update my web site every day or two, so
I hope you come back often.
After
you look around, I hope you decide
to call or email me to represent you in buying or
selling real estate in the greater San
Francisco Bay Area, until then . . .
Best
regards,
Joanne, Your
San
Francisco Bay Area Real
Estate Broker |
The early
years ...
Joanne, a veteran real estate professional,
has had houses on her mind most of her life.
When she was a little girl in the 1950's she
busied herself by drawing on brown paper bags.
One of her drawings
was a floor plan, an outrageous
design for the time considering that most houses
were two bedrooms and one bath. Her floor
plan featured three bedrooms: a parents
bedroom, a boys bedroom and a girls bedroom;
Two bathrooms: a parents bathroom and a kids bathroom;
and two living rooms: an adults living room and a kids
living room; and a garage attached to the house "so
nobody gets wet in the winter."
Years later that
design became the standard for most home builders
in the nation, what we in the real estate industry
call a
3/2/2/FR. In Non-Realtor language it
means: 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 car garage and a family
room.

When I was a
newbie...
"When I
was new in real estate I worked for a large real
estate brokerage company whose emphasis was on its
agents getting listings. So every week I would go
out pounding doors as they called it to introduce myself
and leave something.
After
several months people in my service area were used
to see me around and many
welcomed my newsletters. One older couple took
a liking to me and one day when I stopped by they
had me list their home.
I was
so excited I could hardly get back to the office
fast enough. I put up a For Sale sign in
their yard and brought all the agents through on the
weekly office tour. Everybody loved my listing and
thought I had priced it right, too. The office's
Top Producer even patted me on the back. Boy,
was I ever busting my buttons.
Then I
received a call from the seller saying she needed me to
come over. When I got there another man was there
with the older couple. He told me that he owned
the house and that my sellers were his tenants.
The old lady was teary eyed and told me she was only
trying to help me.
The
longest drive I ever made was back to the office that
day. I never knew people could laugh so loud and make so
many wise cracks I as got in the next weeks. I
just hated going to the office. I was so
embarrassed I almost left real estate."
